  1. Lol...wow those are hard shoes to fill!! I love to sing, and I love to perform. One way that I feel that I can enhance my performance is to learn to play the piano, so I decided to take piano lessons, but I don't practice....at all....in the least bit.....so my challenge seems a bit boring, but I feel that it will help me to become a better singer...so for 21 days I am going to practice piano for at least 1 hour a day. Today, I practiced for 1hr, though I had a lot of distractions. Tomorrow, I am going to work on practicing without the TV on, and I am going to turn my phone off...that is the ONLY way I can practice. I talked to my piano instructor yesterday, and he is going to pick out a song for me to play and sing at the end of the 21 days. I am hoping that in doing this challenge, playing the piano will become a habit for me, and my dream to become a well-known international singer will be closer in my grasp!!

  2. I hope that I am posting in the right place!! Today, (which is really tomorrow, but its okay), I practiced for an hour. I turned the tv off and it was a lot easier to get my hour in. I see that I need brakes between practicing. Today I did my major and minor penta scales and the inversions for each. Tomorrow (today) I have a gig, so I am going to have to practice before I go to the gig. I am moving on to my diminished chords tomorrow. I think I am doing pretty well. Next week on Wednesday, I will get my song that I am going to learn to play, so I am excited about that. Thanks again Mike for this opportunity!

  3. Today I practiced for about 30-45 min....gonna make up the time tomorrow. I envision myself playing and singing in no time!! As I practice, I imagine myself as a famous singer singing and composing my own songs.....traveling across Europe to sold out crowds in every venue......I CAN DO IT!!!

  4. I practiced today for a little over an hour. I also played some very easy songs out of an easy beginner piano book. Granted, these are songs that a 1st grader can play....but i'm just beginning!! I have already played over half of the book so far and i'm proud of me!!!!!!! I did not practice for the full hour yesterday, but im not gonna beat myself up about it....i'm just gonna keep going!!!

  5. I practiced today for over an hour, but I am not sure how much over. I know that learning to play is a process, but I am anxious!! I want to be able to play more than Go Tell Aunt Rhodie...but like I said, its a process. I am learning how to play by playing chords, so I have been practicing playing chords and their inversions. And sometimes I look in a couple of books I have here and play the little songs in the books. I went on Twitter today and looked at a tweet from Chrisette Michelle where she had written out some music and she asked if people could decipher it. I could!! Thats the way that my music teacher writes our music!! Now I am not saying that I could play it, but for me to even be able to recognize it made me feel like "yeah!! I CAN do IT!!". If I just continue to practice and listen to my music teacher, I too will be playing and writing music....maybe even like Chrisette Michelle!! Wow...that was like wow to me today. I know I am a little older than most people trying to make it in the music biz, and granted I don't know anyone, and I live in a small town, but no dream is too small!!! and I have started...so here I come world...today Go Tell Aunt Rhodie....tomorrow the WORLD!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! YESSSSSS!!!!
